The Syndicate of Lebanese Contractors of Public Works and Buildings was established on June 25, 1965 by decision No 532/1 from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.The Syndicate is based in Beirut.

The Syndicate’s major objectives are:

To promote the standing and the standards of the profession and to preserve its integrity and status.
To protect, encourage and support public works’ contractors and to help them at all levels: technical, economical, commercial and social as well as with Government Offices and Agencies.
To safeguard the interests of the Syndicate and those of its members and to promote the welfare of its members and improve their professional, cultural and social status and rights.
To strengthen the relations between the Contractors themselves and between them and their Syndicate and to work together with all the other parties in the Contracting market such as architects, engineers and suppliers, for the achievement of common goals and interests.
To establish a retirement fund and a health insurance scheme for the Syndicate’s members and their families.

The Syndicate regroups all those involved in public works and in the construction business at large who undertake to comply with the affiliation’s conditions stipulated in the Syndicate’s internal statutes and no Member of the Syndicate is allowed to subscribe to another syndicate of the same objectives and purposes.
